About Us
DreamTide Farm is Certified Organic and located on the southern coast of Maine overlooking the Spurwink River, a tidal estuary less than ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean.  The modest salt water farmhouse was built in 1782 and remains strong today surrounded by fertile ground and salt laden air.

Mainely Herbs business is located at the farm. It is a community resource business specializing in cultivating and wildcrafting medicinal herbs as well as  formulating  herbal products.  If certain herbs are not available locally we obtain quality organic herbs from reputable sources that also are committed to the same values and ideals as us.

We use no chemicals on our gardens and harvest by the moon cycles, increasing the efficacy of the plants' medicinal properties and spirit essence. We do not wild craft any herbs that are endangered or at risk as we are committed to protecting native medicinal plants and their environment.*  Educational workshops on herbs and plants, their healing properties, gardening with medicinal herbs and spirit essence of plants are available throughout the year to both the public and private groups.

Elizabeth Lancaster Peoples is a certified herbalist and the owner of Mainely Herbs.  Born and raised in Maine she knows and respects the inherent earth wisdom of Maine's soil, the seasonal sun and the ethereal power generated from the ocean.  Her love of gardening began as a young girl watching her mother tend to the flower beds and helping her father nurture his vegetable garden and fruit trees. She now lives in Scarborough with her own family where they tend to the gardens, herbs, goats, chickens, honey bees and steward the land.

Elizabeth has studied the art of traditional herbalism with Deb Soule, owner of Avena Botanicals as well as other nationally renowned herbalists.  She also has studied phytotherapy with herbalists in Switzerland and the French West Indies.  Her studies of sacred earth energies with native American healers, both on the east and west coast, attribute to her respect for  the relations between us, plants and mother earth.   She is a member of the American Herbalist Guild and Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) and United Plant Savers (UpS).   In her parallel life she practices law having obtained her law degree in 1988.
